Romanucci & Blandin Law Among Top 12 Personal Injury Firms

Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, located in downtown Chicago, is among 12 personal injury firms with the largest settlements in the state, according to Chicago Lawyer magazine’s 13th annual survey of settlements in Illinois.

In its October issue, the magazine listed Romanucci & Blandin as one of only 12 firms whose settlements topped $10 million between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007. The firm had two cases that settled for a total of $10.40 million.

In March 2007, the firm received a $4,850,000 settlement on behalf of a male carpenter who sustained traumatic brain and other injuries at the Shedd Aquarium when an improperly secured fish tank weighing thousands of pounds fell on him.

In a case that settled in August 2006, the firm won a $5,550,000 settlement on behalf of a female construction worker who suffered incomplete paraplegia when a trench collapsed.

The cases were handled by the firm’s partners, Antonio M. Romanucci and Stephan D. Blandin. Together, they have achieved more than three dozen recoveries for clients of $1 million or greater. Their largest verdict to date was for $17,682,374; the case involved a police car chase on the Eisenhower Expressway that left a bystander, the firm’s client, a quadriplegic.
